India defers implementation of Quality Control Orders for four chemicals.

The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) published a notification in the Official Gazette on 30 January, 2024, deferring the implementation of Quality Control Orders (QCO’s) for four chemicals. 

The four chemicals and their previous and new implementation dates are listed below:

Aniline IS 2833:2019  Aniline, Technical- Specification 3 February 2024 3 August 2024 

The Orders do not apply to chemicals intended for export only. The chemical products meeting to the requirements of the Orders must bear the standard mark under a license of the Bureau of Indian Standards. Those who fails to comply with the provisions of the order shall be penalized in accordance with the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act (BIS Act), 2016.
